Minister Zaorálek in Armenia

Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek paid a working visit to the Republic of Armenia on June 24-25, 2015. The visit was focused on further strengthening of cooperation between the countries with emphasis on economy and trade.

Minister Zaorálek also discussed with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian the reform process in Armenia and examine possible ways for cooperation between Armenia and the EU within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. Their agenda also covered relevant international issues, including developments in Ukraine and in the Caucasus region.

Ministr Zaorálek’s visit corresponded to the objectives of the Czech foreign policy to contribute to the ongoing democratic development in Armenia and to support Armenian efforts to diversify its foreign policy orientation.

Minister Zaorálek also met with Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and Chairman of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan and participated in the ceremony of renaming one of the streets of the historic city of Echmiadzin to “Lidická”.
