Guinea: Visa Implementing Decision

 

In accordance with Art. 25a of the Visa Code (cooperation on the readmission of irregular migrants) and based on a report of the European Commission, Schengen Area Member States decided to temporarily adopt an visa implementing decision with respect to Guinea.

The implementing decision applies to citizens of Guinea who require visa to enter the Schengen Area and who apply for a Schengen visa regardless of their place of stay.

The implementing decision does not apply to citizens of Guinea who are family members of EU citizens or of UK citizens or when EU Member States are bound by international law.

When applying for Schengen visas, citizens of Guinea are required to observe the following:

● ALL APPLICANTS must present ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

● holders of diplomatic and service passports must pay the visa fee

● period to decide on an application is extended to 45 days (as opposed to 15 days)

● only a single-entry Schengen visa can be issued

The implementing decision is in effect as of July 10, 2026.
