Ing. Ladislav Steinhübel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Pakistan and to Afghanistan
Ladislav Steinhübel earned his master’s degree in petroleum technology and alternative fuels from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague in 1993 and completed the Advanced Diplomatic Programme at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in 2010.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995 and has since served in a wide range of diplomatic roles. His overseas assignments include postings in Vietnam, Indonesia, Poland, Kazakhstan as well as a term at the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations in New York. He later held senior positions at the Ministry, including Deputy Director of the UN Department and Diplomatic Secretary to the Deputy Minister for Non European Countries, Economic and Development Cooperation.
In 2023, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Pakistan and Afghanistan, presenting his credentials to the President of Pakistan on 1 November 2023. As Ambassador, he focuses on strengthening political dialogue, expanding economic and industrial cooperation, and deepening the long-standing partnership between Czechia and Pakistan.
He is fluent in English, Russian, and Polish.
He is married and has daughter and son.
