Invitation to the piano recital of Matyáš Novák in Helsinki

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki cordially invites you to the piano recital of Matyáš Novák which will take place in the Finnish House of Nobility (Ritarikatu 1, Helsinki) on Tuesday, 20 May 2025 at 18,00.

The concert is organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki.

The concert has been supported by VAFO Group, a leading European producer of superpremium pet food, and by Helkama-Auto, official importer of ŠKODA cars in Finland.

Czech pianist Matyáš Novák has made a name for himself as one of the most promising pianists of his time through his extraordinary harmonic expression, vast repertoire and unique way of key-stroking. Matyáš has performed throughout his native Czechia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Serbia, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, France, Thailand and the USA. Between 2015 and 2016 he undertook two successful concert tours in China. In 2017 he debuted in Carnegie Hall, New York. In the same year he released his first album Franz Liszt: Années de pèlerinage: Première année: Suisse and became one of the three musicians who received CME International Performing Arts Grant awarded by the Center for Musical Excellence in New Jersey.

Matyáš is a prize winner of many prestigious international competitions, e.g. XX Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition, the 16th International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in Bergen or Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition (USA). Matyáš’s latest achievement is the place amongst 10 semi-finalists in the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht, the Netherlands. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Chamber Orchestra, among others, and has performed in venues such as Weill Recital Hall (New York), Rudolfinum Hall (Prague), National Library of China (Beijing), Bohemian National Hall (New York), TivoliVredenburg Hall (Utrecht).
