The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki cordially invites you to the screening of the Czech film “The Saint” at Eurooppasali (Malminkatu 16, Helsinki) on Monday 7 October 2024 at 19:00.
The film will be shown in Czech with English subtitles.
Free admission, no registration required. (Eurooppasali has a capacity of 100 seats.)

Olga is a ninety-year-old, vital retiree who lives in an old house together with her daughter Hana. Their relationship is somewhat tense and marked by more than one trauma from the past. Olga survived the horrors of the Gulag and today she writes books and talks about it. The President even wants to award the Medal to her. Journalists become interested in Olga and uncover a number of historical and factual inconsistencies in her story. Although Olga eventually explains all the ambiguities, Hana is more and more doubtful about her mother's truthfulness...
The film “The Saint”, produced by the Czech Television, is presented by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki in the framework of the film festival European Film Weeks 2024 (4 – 13 October).
The European Film Weeks are organized by the European Commission Representation and European Parliament Liaison Office in Finland, together with Embassies and Cultural Institutes of the EU Member States in Finland.
