A Unique Musical Voyage through Europe with singer Kateřina García

The evening of 16 May saw the excellent Czech-Spanish singer Kateřina García present her unique event at the dlr LexIcon in Dún Laoghaire . The programme consisted of folk music and musical poetry from various countries and regions across Europe.
For the concert project titled “A Musical Voyage“, she invited Czech guitarist Petr Moc and exceptional Irish musicians, harpist Síle Denvir and flautist Robert Harvey. In a wonderful interpretation and in original language versions, they performed a 70-minute programme of compositions and musical poetry from Bohemia, Moravia, Ireland, Scotland, Galicia, Asturias, Valencia, Catalonia and Slovakia. The concert was attended by more than 200 people, who were enthused by the marvellous performance.
This concert is the third event of the Czech Embassy in Dublin in association with the Dún Laoghaire – Rathdown Council and its dynamic cultural and educational institution LexIcon. The Embassy greatly appreciates this fruitful cooperation and would like to expresses its sincerest gratitude, especially to the Senior Executive Librarian Marian Keys.
