Thanks to a great collaboration with the Irish Architectural Archive, the Embassy of the Czech Republic organized a major exhibition by renowned Czech photographer Ester Havlová. Fragments, a set of architecturally-themed photographs, were presented in the Irish Architectural Archive at 45 Merrion Square, Dublin 2 from 14th September 2016 until 28th October 2016.
The exhibition showed beautiful buildings in the Czech Republic and across the world which were captured in a series of carefully composed and visually striking images. However, as the name Fragments suggests, Ester Havlová showed us not a whole building but rather an element, a structural detail, a defining characteristic. Her keen eye and unique visual perspective made for a fascinating series of photographs.

The exhibition was opened in the presence of the author on 13 September by the prominent Irish photographer David Davis. Other speakers included the Chairman of the Board of the Irish Architectural Archive Michael Webb and Ambassador Hana Mottlova. The exhibition programme was complemented with an outstanding musical performance by the renowned Czech saxophonist Pavel Fiedler.
