Registration for Employee Card applications

MAKE APPOINTMENT to apply for an employee card
 

Below you will find the conditions for registering to apply for an employee card.

Please note that only citizens of selected countries are eligible to apply for an employee card. More information can be found here.

Overview of countries whose citizens are entitled to apply for an employee card:

REGISTRATION RULES

1) Registration for lodging the application for an employee card shall be done in writing only via the e-mail address:

dresden.employment@mzv.gov.cz  (we do not respond to inquiries sent to this e-mail box).

2) In the subject line of the e-mail, please indicate only the unique number of the travel document (including letters, if the travel document number contains them).

3) In the body of the email, include the following information:

     - name and surname as it appears in the travel document

     - country that issued the travel document,

     - travel document number,

     - contact details (phone and email).

Please also attach the following to the e-mail in the form of an attachment only in .pdf format:

     - a scan of the document on the purpose of stay,

     - a scan of the passport data page,

Applicants who are not covered by an exception to the rule of territorial consular jurisdiction shall attach to the e-mail the supporting documents of the future application, which will proof to its admissibility pursuant to Section 169g (1) in conjunction with Section 169h (1) lit. b) Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Territory of the Czech Republic and on the Amendment of Certain Acts:

     - a scan of a valid residence card issued by one of the countries that belong to the territorial area of the Dresden Visa Centre,

     - scans of documents proving previous authorized continuous residence in the territorial area of the Dresden Visa Centre for at least 2 years (e.g. previous residence cards, previous long-term visas, residence certificates, etc.). The condition of having at least 2 years of previous residence must be met on the date of submission of the application. Registration to apply for a visa or residence (except for an employee card)

4) 1 applicant = 1 e-mail.  Please send only one email in order to register for an appointment. Only one applicant can be registered in each email.  The only exceptions are: when minor children apply with parent (parents includes minor children in their applications) or when family is applying (one family member includes minor children and spouse in the registration).

5) Your e-mail will be registered in a queue in the order received.

6) The following e-mails will be disqualified from the registration process: a) e-mails that are not sent in the .pdf format, b) emails that do not include attachments referred to in point 3, c) e-mails in which the applicant attempts to register more applicants in one submission - with the exception of e-mails from parents or family registering their minor children, d)  e-mails sent multiple times by one applicant, e) e-mails sent to a different e-mail address, f) e-mails with attachments larger than 10 MB.

7) After successful registration a response will be sent within 7 days with a date registered for lodging your application. Please note that the date for lodging the application at the Dresden Visa Centre cannot be changed.

8) If you do not receive confirmation of an assigned appointment within 7 days, it implies that your registration was not sent in accordance with the terms and the conditions of the registration process.

9) Please note that you cannot change your appointment. For capacity reasons and in the interest of transparency and predictability, we cannot assign a specific date according to the applicant's wishes. If you are unable to use the date allocated, you must register for a new appointment as per the procedure above. If you fail to appear, your appointment will be cancelled. If you arrive late without notifying us, your appointment will also be cancelled - in this case the visa centre will deal with other applicants who arrived on time.

Once the application has been decided, the Dresden Visa Centre will contact the applicant. You can check the status of your application for a long-term visa/residence permit here.

We do not answer enquiries regarding the status of the application before the legal deadline expires.

 

HOW TO LODGE THE APPLICATION

Lodging the application in person

After successful registration a response will be sent within 7 working days with a date registered for lodging your application. This date cannot be changed. The application must be lodged in person.

Possibility of waiving the obligation to apply in person

The obligation to lodge the application in person may be waived under the provisions of Sec. 169d (3) of Act No 326/1999 Coll., on the residence of foreigners in the territory of the Czech Republic, in the case of citizens of Australia, Japan, Canada, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the USA.

Send the request for waiver of the obligation to submit the visa application in person directly in the email registration. If the request for waiver of personal submission is granted, the application for an employee card can be delivered through an authorized person.

Please note that the applicant may be summoned to the Visa Centre in Dresden for an interview/questioning.
