For the December screening, we have chosen the legendary film All My Good Countrymen (1968, dir. Vojtěch Jasný), one of the most beautiful and intellectually profound films in the entire history of Czech cinema. A treasure trove gem that is not just a descriptive narrative, but a poetic retelling of dramatic human destinies that came into conflict with power, violence and cruelty between 1945 and 1948. We present the film as a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of director Vojtěch Jasný.

Annotation:
A picturesque Moravian village in May 1945. People here are experiencing the most beautiful days of their lives, in the evening everyone gathers in the U Vola pub for wine and music, where the main character is the carefree drinker Zášínek. However, February 1948 arrives. The village is divided into two irreconcilable camps and the peaceful times of the natives are coming to an end.
