Visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Marian Jurecka to Bucharest

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Marian Jurečka held talks with Minister of Labour and Social Solidarity Simona Bucura-Oprescu in Bucharest on 6th March. The main topics discussed included the system for combating illegal employment, support for Ukrainian refugees in the field of employment and family support.

The mutual discussion developed further on the conditions for registering employment contracts of newly employed workers, the obligations of employers to register foreign workers enjoying temporary protection, the impact of the influx of these workers on the labour market and the social sphere in both countries.  The Romanian Minister mentioned the unfavourable demographic development and future forecasts in this area in Romania and asked about the situation in the Czech Republic. At the end of the meeting, the two ministers agreed that it was necessary and useful to further deepen mutual relations and expressed interest in continuing the dialogue on the topics outlined during further bilateral meetings and at the EPSCO Councils.
