For the third time already the Gerník inhabitants used the annual celebration of Harvest Thanksgiving to welcome back their fellow countrymen who had left the village for towns in Romania and the Czech Republic in search of work. Almost three hundred of them came this time. On Saturday afternoon, Gerník locals vs.natives played a friendly football match and all went to a dance in the village square on Saturday night. On Sunday, old and young went to church to attend the Harvest Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Gerník native son Dean Václav Mašek.
