Czech and Belgian companies wish to strengthen cooperation in the field of defence and security

Jiří Hynek, President of the Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Frédéric Givron, Director General of the partner association AGORIA/Belgium Defence and Security Industry. This took place during the first jointly organised event, Smart Security: Czech-Belgian Forum on Defence and Security Innovation and IT.
The Smart Security Forum, which took place on October 7, 2025, at the Prague House in Brussels, was opened by Ambassador Jakub Skalník. Representatives of both business associations then presented their activities. The meeting also provided an opportunity for Czech and Belgian technology and innovation companies operating in the security and defence sector to establish direct contacts. Nine Czech companies and nearly thirty representatives of Belgian companies took part. Representatives of the Czech and Belgian security forces and the CzechInvest Defence Hub were also present.
The memorandum of cooperation aims primarily to share information of mutual interest and facilitate contacts between member companies on both sides.
The meeting was organized by the CzechTrade agency in cooperation with the Czech Embassy and both business associations. A similar event took place the day before in Luxembourg.
