New Czech Ambassador to Head to Indonesia

Career diplomat Petr Kopřiva will become the new head of mission in Jakarta. He has already received agrément, i.e., the host country’s consent to his appointment.

“I wish Petr Kopřiva every success in his new posting,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský.

Petr Kopřiva has served in Czech diplomacy since 1994. He began at the Department for Sub-Saharan Africa, which he headed in 2002–2003. From 2003 to 2007 he was Ambassador to Kenya. He then worked at the Permanent Representation of Czechia to the EU in Brussels (2008–2009), where he chaired the Working Party on Sub-Saharan Africa during the Czechia’s Presidency of the Council of the EU. From 2012 to 2016 he served as Ambassador to Argentina. Since 2016 he has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Deputy Director of the Department of Administration and Information Processing.

Petr Kopřiva will travel to Jakarta at the turn of the year.
