Peace, good governance, the rule of law and participatory decision-making constitute the essential requirements for sustainable development. Where do we stand, and how can we effectively contribute to achieving these various facets of SDG 16? This event will provide an opportunity to discuss these issues with professionals in this field, including innovators in social and political participation. Prominent guests such as the co-founder of the humanitarian organization People in Need and former student activist Šimon Pánek as well as Tomáš Rákos, an expert in participatory processes working with alternative voting systems, have confirmed their attendance. Beyond that, the discussions are intended to provide food for thought for the first international review of the implementation of SDG 16, which will take place in New York in July 2019.
