The Embassy of the Czech Republic cordially invites you to the 2nd Athens Literary Walking, an international event organized by the EUNIC-Athens (European Union National Institutes for Culture) - Athens, 19 September 2015.

Book Passage “Stoa tou vivliou”
(Pesmazoglou 5 & Stadiou, Arsakeio Megaro, Athens)

 

A walk with European writers continues!

For the second consecutive year, the EUNIC-Athens organizes a meetingwith writers from various European countries.

With :

Hervé Le Tellier (French Institute in Greece | Angelika Reitzer (Austrian Embassy) | Adam Baron (British Council) | Matei Visniec (Rumanian Embassy) | Care Santos (Instituto Cervantes) | Elena Kefala, Andreas Karagian, Leukios Zafeiriou (The House of Cyprus) | Markéta Mališová (Embassy of the Czech Republic) | David Safier (Goethe-Institut Athen) | Kari Hesthamar (Norwegian Embassy)

The aforementioned writers will present themselves and their work and will read short passages from their books in their own languages, whilst Greek actors and journalists will then read parts of their work translated into Greek. The reading will be followed by a discussion between the writer and the public. The blocks will be repeated, enabling such the visitors of the event to visit during a 4-hour event the corners of all participating countries situated in various parts of the book passage “Stoa tou vivliou”.

The Czech Republic and the Czech literature will be represented by the writer and director of The Franz Kafka Center and The Franz Kafka Publishing House Markéta Mališová.

The Czech part of the event will be hosted by the Greek actor Constantine Themelis (vulcanactiv.wordpress.com).

The Czech part of the event will also present an exhibition on Franz Kafka.


Entrance free, consecutive translation from and into Greek will be provided.
