Small Scale Local Projects in Ethiopia – Call for Proposals 2019

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa is pleased to launch its annual call for proposals for the Small scale local projects.
The application is open for any local organizations registered at the Charities and Societies Agency of Ethiopia. The projects can focus on various sectors but should be in line with the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP) II and should promote gender equality and respect for environment.
Available Funding:
Funding provided by the Czech Republic for each project ranges between 200 000 CZK (approx. 8 000 USD) to maximum limit 500 000 CZK (approx. 20 000 USD). Co-funding from the applicant or other sources is welcomed. Overhead costs are to be borne by the applicant. Total sum of personal and travel costs, salary, per diem, accommodation and the like must not exceed 25% of total small local project/ SLP budget.
The majority of SLP funding is to be directed toward local civil society organizations (including non-governmental organizations) and other institutions working at the local level. Other entities, such as international, intergovernmental, multilateral and regional organizations can be eligible for a contribution, provided that they are working with local partners and on local projects.
Proposal Submission:
All proposals should be delivered in hard copy to the Embassy of the Czech Republic, Kirkos Kifle Ketema Rd., Kebele 15, House No. 289, Addis Ababa (behind Ethiopia Hotel, P.O.Box 3108), and in electronic form (scanned with stamp and signature, plus the original completed identification form - excel format) by e-mail to dev_addisababa@mzv.cz.
Terms of Project:
- Interested entities should submit signed and stamped project proposals, using the application form, to the Embassy of the Czech Republic no later than Wednesday October 3rd, 2018.
- Successful applicants should sign the Contract with the Embassy of the Czech Republic. The Contract amongst others specifies the time deadline for submission of the Final Report and all relevant financial documents to the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
- All SLP activities should be finished no later than 31st October 2019.
- Only proposals duly prepared and submitted in this form and in line with these instructions will be admitted for evaluation. Project calculations in terms of financial requirements should be filled in using either USD, EUR, or ETB as project currencies in order to facilitate conversion to CZK.
- Please also bear in mind that currency fluctuations need to be taken into account. Contracts for awarded SLPs will be quoted in CZK and the approved CZK amount is final and cannot be changed. It is thus necessary to take this into account during project and budget preparation and allocation in the Identification Form.
