International scientific conference on natural resource management and food security at Hawassa University

On 22 – 23 October 2015, the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague together with the Institute of Technology of the Hawassa University organized an international scientific conference on natural resources management and food security in the premises of the Hawassa University.
The conference marked the completion of two development projects of the Czech Republic, aimed at enhancing the quality of education and research at the Hawassa University. Representatives of academia and state institutions from Ethiopia, Czech Republic and Sudan were present at the event.
The conference was attended by Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ethiopia Mr. Karel Hejč, Vice-President of the Hawassa University Mr. Fikre Dessalegn, Director of the Institute of Technology Mr. Moltot Zewdie, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the Czech University of Life Sciences Mr. David Herák, representative of the Czech Development Agency, which financed the project, and other guests. Ambassador Karel Hejč gave an interview on Ethio-Czech relations to the Southern Regional State Radio and Televison.
