To pay tribute and to honor all victims of the killing of Ethiopian Christians in Libya by the so-called Islamic State, the Embassy of the Czech Republic lowered its national flag for three days of national mourning.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic has issued the following statement condemning the killing of Ethiopian nationals in Libya:
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic resolutely condemns the shameful murder of 30 Ethiopian nationals committed by followers of the so-called Islamic State on the territory of Libya. We express our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
The so-called Islamic State has proven yet again it only wishes to cause turmoil and brutal terror and that it is a purely criminal and terrorist organization.
The Czech Republic recognizes Ethiopia as a valuable partner in concerted international efforts to eradicate all forms of extremism and terrorism in the world.
