The presentation of copies of the Letters of Credence constitutes the first formal step in the accreditation process of the new Ambassador. Jan Rouček will subsequently present the original Letters of Credence to the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

During the meeting that followed, both sides confirmed their interest in continuing to develop the traditionally good relations between the Czech Republic and Ethiopia and in further strengthening bilateral cooperation. The Czech Republic and Ethiopia maintain long-standing diplomatic relations based on mutual respect and cooperation in a wide range of areas, including trade, development cooperation, agriculture, healthcare, education and people-to-people contacts.
