The state funeral was attended by top political leaders from around the world, including current or former Heads of State and Ministers of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony was carried out in the spirit of the motto "Celebration of Life of Kofi Annan" and took place with active participation of church ministers.

Speakers, including family members, current UN Secretary-General A. Guterres, or Ghanaian president N. Akufo-Addo, recalled the countless merits of the former Secretary-General on the international scene, and also brought testimony of his personality traits. Guests present at the ceremony remembered the deceased K. Annan as a great humanist, a relentless optimist and a man who managed to act calmly, rationally and above all humanly in crisis situations, both in relation to his international partners and to his staff.
