Deputy Foreign Minister Tlapa in Cote d´Ivoire

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Martin Tlapa visited Cote d´Ivoire on 22 January 2020 to follow up on the health sector mission in November 2019. He held bilateral talks with the Ministers of Health, and Commerce and Trade, as well as with the top representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Confederation of Enterprises of Cote d´Ivoire. The talks focused on sectoral topics, economic cooperation and regional security

Deputy Minister Tlapa launched the visit by consultations with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Daouda Diabaté. The discussion focused on priority areas of economic cooperation, which has been developing since the opening of the Honorary Consulate in 2018. Both sides also discussed ways to enhance the regional security with respect to the security threats in the Sahel region.

Deputy Minister Tlapa then met Minister of Health Eugène Aouélé Aka to follow up on the mission of the Czech health sector in November 2018 and discuss opportunities for cooperation in the modernization of Ivorian health sector.

Finally, Deputy Minister Tlapa discussed other perspective sectors for economic cooperation with Minister of Commerce and Trade Souleymane Diarrassouba and with the Executive Director of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Cote d´Ivoire (CGECI). The economic cooperation would be further strengthened by the agreement of avoidance of double taxation, which is currently being negotiated.
