The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra and the Africa Center for Digital Transformation (ACDT) have signed an agreement enabling the implementation of a new Transformation Cooperation project focused on cyber awareness, media development, and public resilience against cybercrime.
Czech Ambassador Pavel Bílek and Executive Director of the ACDT, Kwesi Atuahene, signed the agreement on Thursday July 16, 2026, as part of Czechia’s continued support for strengthening Ghana’s cybersecurity capacities. The project will focus on training Ghanaian journalists and media practitioners in Accra and Kumasi, helping them better understand cyber threats, online fraud, scams, digital misinformation, and responsible reporting on cybercrime.
By strengthening the capacity of trusted media voices, the project aims to improve public awareness of cyber risks, support safer online behaviour, and bring practical cybersecurity information closer to communities across Ghana. The initiative is one of several Czech projects contributing to Ghana’s cybersecurity resilience.
In May, under the CyberVAC programme, Czechia provided the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service with specialised equipment to enhance the extraction and analysis of data from electronic devices during cybercrime investigations.
