Ambassador Pavel Bílek presented medals to Ghanaian participants of the 53rd International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra.

From Ghana, Delhi Private School International in Accra received a school medal, accepted by the school’s First Lady, Madam Tanya Thakwani. An individual medal was awarded to Daniel Nana Kofi Tenkorang Sahnoon, while Alisa Boakye, Dziedzorm Fafa Dey, Venya Rachakonda, Adjoa Asantewa Takyi, and Leila Ali Sambo received Honourable Mentions.

The International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice is a global art competition established in memory of the children of Lidice, a Czech village destroyed by the Nazis in 1942. After the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, Lidice was razed, and its inhabitants were murdered or deported. Among them were 88 children who were killed in extermination camps. This competition keeps their memory alive by promoting peace, creativity, and understanding among young generations worldwide.

The 53rd edition, held in 2025 under the theme “PLAY – Learning about the world through play”, attracted 12,723 participants from 69 countries. The expert jury awarded 1,580 artworks and presented 237 medals, including 103 to international participants. Winning works were exhibited at the Lidice Gallery in Lidice, Czechia.
