MEDEVAC in Tamale

On 22 June, another medevac project medical mission to Ghana concluded. A team of Czech gynaecologists, led by Professor Michal Zikán, performed 84 operations on three continuously functioning operating theatres during their time at Tamale Teaching Hospital. This was the fourth, and the largest, mission yet by gynaecologists to this northern Ghanaian city. Thanks to the great resonance in the hospital community there, there is also interest in the program in other wards of the hospital, so the mission could continue to grow in the future. ZÚ Akkra ensured, due to the clearly positive representation of the Czech Republic that the project brings, media coverage in the Ghanaian media. The pilot also managed to film a lengthy interview with team executives for Ghana's GHOne TV; the show is expected to air at the end of next week
