The Czech internet series "#martyisdead" won the International Emmy Award in the short film category, making it the first Czech series to win the prestigious television award. The gala evening took place online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, featuring International Emmy Awards presented in 11 categories. "We perceive the historically first Emmy for the #martyisdead series as a success for Czech filmmakers and the entire Czech Republic. We are also pleased that Czech genre production has succeeded in such a large global competition," agreed producers Šlajer and Kuchynka.
The eight-part internet thriller "#martyisdead" captures the other side of social networks and their fatal intervention in the life of the hitherto problem-free 15-year-old Martin, nicknamed Marty.
