
Degustation of the Czech wine called “Czech Temptation“ at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Vilnius

On 19th September 2016, Czech Embassy in Vilnius organized presentation of the Czech wine industry along with testing of production of 5 wine companies - Templářské sklepy Čejkovice, Vinařství Reisten, Vinařství Jakubík, Vinařství Mikrosvín a Zámecké vinařství Bzenec. This event was designed only for limited number of guests of Lithuanian wine importers and distributors, retailers, restaurants, hotels or sommeliers. Also representatives of travel agencies and some medias were invited. Tasting of wine followed the earlier successful project of Economy Diplomacy Office called ,,Czech day in Vilnius“ that was held on May and where was wine production introduced for the local community.
In the late afternoon, professional sommelier Aleš Pokorný from Blanc de Blanc company, had interesting presentation about history and also present growing and manufacturing of wine in Bohemia and particularly in Moravia. He also showed 10 selected samples from production of participating companies during tasting time. After the end of the presentation, hosts from Lithuania had an opportunity for refreshment and continue in tasting next 20 samples of white, red and pink wines, and also there was a chance to taste sparkling wine from Bzenec winery. Representatives of Czech companies used the opportunity of the presence of Lithuanian companies and discussed with them possible cooperation on imports of Czech wine on the local markets.
After the end of the event, Czech wine growers highly appreciated preparation of this event, professional attitude and the support provided by the Czech Embassy in Vilnius, with whom they want to prepare next steps in the following months with the aim to find suitable partners to enter on the Lithuanian market. Czech wines will be present to the public again on October within the occasion of the National Day of the Czech Republic. At the stage of considerations is also visiting of Moravian wine companies by selected Lithuanian partners with a possible support of Ministry the Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture.
