Czech Principal Vice-Chairperson of the Parliament Ms. Jermanová in the UN

At the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), a panel discussion Changing Approaches to Policymaking: the role of the SDGs took place on June 30, 2015.
The session was chaired by ECOSOC vice-president, Ambassador Drobnjak, and moderated by Debapriya Bhattacharya from Bangladesh. Panelists included Ambassador van Oosterom (PR of the Netherlands), J. Muvawala of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Uganda, and the principal vice-chairperson of Czech Parliament, Ms. Jaroslava Jermanová.
Ms. Jermanová devoted her intervention mainly to gender equality and women's empowerment, which is an objective in its own right but also an essential precondition for the achievement of other Sustainable Development Goals.
