The Czech Republic together with Visegrad countries launches a pilot training program for start-ups in Israel

Start-ups from the four Visegrad countries – the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia – will get an opportunity to participate in a 2-3 weeks training program in Israel as a part of a new pilot project. The training will be focused on the development of their entrepreneur skills and establishing ties with foreign investors. Israel is known for its highest concentration of start-ups in the world right after Silicon Valley.

Ministry of Industry and Trade, CzechInvest, the International Visegrad Fund and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel in a close cooperation with the Israeli Innovation Authority are jointly launching this project. The Memorandum providing a legal basis for the cooperation, was signed yesterday (19. 6. 2018) in Jerusalem by the Czech Chargé d’Affaires a. i. Karel Pažourek in the presence of Scientific Diplomat Delana Mikolášová together with the representatives of Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.

The unique project worth of almost 150 000 EUR, which Israel has not yet offered to any other state, is designed for 28 young entrepreneurs from V4 countries whose companies are active in one of the following areas: ICT, biotechnology, smart mobility, automotive, fintech, cyber security, artificial intelligence. As a part of this project, the Israeli side will be offering meetings with the icons of the Israeli high-tech ecosystem, experienced mentors, investors or legal experts as a part of practically-oriented seminars. The accomodation and flight fare of the Czech start-ups will be financed by the International Visegrad Fund, the Israeli side will cover the expenses connected with the mentoring of the European start-ups in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The first entrepreneurs from Central Europe will be arriving to Israel already this autumn.
