After 15 years, the Czech Republic has again assumed the role of NATO Contact Point Embassy (CPE) in Israel. Minister Lipavský launched the CPE at a reception in Jerusalem on 26 February 2025 in presence of Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel, members of the Israeli Ministry of Defense and IDF, ambassadors and defense attachés of NATO members countries, and representatives of think tanks and NGOs. The Czech Embassy will fulfil this role for the next two years.
The CPE will contribute to NATO´s communication and outreach efforts to various audiences in Israel, including academia, think-tanks and civil society actors. In addition to the public diplomacy role, the CPE mandate includes support to the implementation of other agreed activities with partners. The CPE will also assist NATO with logistical support, political advice and briefings on relevant developments in Israel in preparation for visits to the country by NATO International Staff and NATO forces. It will liaise with other NATO member country embassies in Israel and involve them in NATO - related activities or events.
