Israeli Tour Operators Explore the Beauty of South Bohemia and Prague

In cooperation with CzechTourism, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tel Aviv organized a study trip for a group of Israeli tour operators to South Bohemia and Prague from 8–14 September 2025. The aim of the trip was to showcase the diversity of Czech destinations beyond the capital and to inspire Israeli visitors to discover new regions of our country.

Exploring South Bohemia

The journey began in Český Krumlov, one of Czechia’s most picturesque towns and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its medieval castle, winding streets, and unique location on the Vltava river created a magical introduction to South Bohemia.

The second day took participants to Lipno lake in the Šumava mountains, where they enjoyed fresh mountain air and views from the popular Treetop Walkway. Later, a visit to the historic Rožmberk Castle allowed the group to experience the romance of South Bohemia’s rich history.

On the third day, the group explored the countryside charm of Holašovice, a UNESCO-listed heritage village, and visited České Budějovice, home of the iconic Budvar Brewery. The evening was spent in the village of Hluboká, famous for its fairy-tale castle.

The following morning began with a tour of Hluboká Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic. The trip then continued to Třeboň, a town shaped by centuries of fishpond building. A cycling tour around its unique system of ponds and forests was lots of fun and offered a refreshing way to experience the calm beauty of the South Bohemian countryside.

On day five, the group discovered the historic town of Písek, home to the country’s oldest stone bridge, before returning to Prague.

Prague – The Heart of Czechia

The last two days were dedicated to Prague, one of Europe’s most visited cities. The group toured the Prague Castle complex, the Old Town, the Jewish Quarter, and the Lesser Town. This experience highlighted not only the city’s rich history but also its lively cultural atmosphere, which continues to attract visitors from all over the world.

Benefits of the Trip

This fam trip offered Israeli tour operators a first-hand experience of destinations that will enrich travel itineraries for their clients. By exploring castles, UNESCO sites, unique natural landscapes, and historical towns, participants gained new inspiration for promoting Czechia as a destination that combines culture, history, and nature.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tel Aviv strongly believes that such experiences will contribute to strengthening tourism ties between Czechia and Israel. Beyond Prague, Czechia offers countless opportunities for Israeli travelers – from active holidays in nature to cultural journeys through charming towns and cities.

The Embassy will continue to work with CzechTourism and regional partners to support Czech destinations and tourism companies in presenting their offers to the Israeli market.

We are confident that this journey will inspire many Israelis to discover Czechia in new ways – not only through the famous beauty of Prague but also by exploring the hidden treasures of South Bohemia and beyond.
