On April 1, 2025, a diplomatic delegation, including the Czech Embassy, participated in a tour of Jerusalem to explore the city’s vibrant business and tech ecosystem. Organized by the Federation of Israel's Chamber of Commerce and JCAP (Jerusalem Center for Applied Policy), the tour offered a deep dive into Jerusalem’s growing potential as a hub for innovation, investment, and global collaboration.
The tour began with an insightful speech from Adir Schwarz, Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, who shared his deep-rooted connection to the city and outlined its socio-economic challenges, including its relatively low GDP. He highlighted the municipality’s focus on creating a strong business ecosystem as a solution for economic growth.
Liron Dover, Executive Director of the Jerusalem Development Authority (JDA), then showcased the city’s thriving tech ecosystem, which boasts over 500 technology companies, 10 startup accelerators, 11 investment funds, and around 10,000 tech graduates annually. Jerusalem’s unique environment fosters innovation across diverse sectors, including high-tech, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and climate technologies.
Next, Anat Landa, Director of the Jerusalem Convention Bureau, discussed the city’s attractive incentives for international conferences and business tourism. Jerusalem offers financial grants for conferences with 300+ participants and incentives for incentive trips, along with zero VAT and no tourist tax, making it an appealing destination for global events.
The delegation also had the opportunity to hear from prominent industry leaders. Gilad Muisiev, CEO of BrainsWay, shared exciting advancements in neuroscience technology, while Harel Hari Ben-Ami, Founder and CEO of the Israel Space Agency, highlighted the city’s role in space technology and developments at the Givat Ram High-Tech Park. Additionally, Mohammad Natsha, CEO of Healers Company, provided insights into the innovative East Jerusalem tech incubator, ESTECH, which supports startups in the region.
A special visit to Mobileye, a global leader in autonomous driving technology, gave the delegation a firsthand look at the company’s groundbreaking innovations and rapid growth, especially following its acquisition by Intel. The visit underscored Jerusalem’s place on the global tech map, with Mobileye’s new headquarters in Har Hotzvim marking a significant milestone in its expansion.
To round out the tour, David Dover from JTLV presented the growing opportunities in Jerusalem’s real estate sector, where ongoing construction projects and investment opportunities are making the city an increasingly appealing destination for international investors.
This tour highlighted Jerusalem’s incredible business potential, with a robust tech ecosystem, diverse sectors, and strong municipal support driving its economic growth. The city's investment in infrastructure, combined with attractive incentives for international businesses and events, positions it as a prime location for global entrepreneurs and investors.
