As part of the program on the second day of the Czech engineering mission to Israel, the delegation visited the headquarters of Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest private defense technology company. The visit offered a comprehensive overview of Elbit’s global operations, advanced technological capabilities, and opened the door to specific collaboration opportunities between Czech and Israeli industries in the defense and manufacturing sectors.

Czech Engineering Delegation Visits Elbit Systems – Strengthening Czech-Israeli Cooperation in Defense Manufacturing
Elbit Systems, founded in 1966 and headquartered in Haifa, employs 21,000 people, including 13,000 in Israel, with 60% of the workforce being engineers. The company reported $6.8 billion in revenue in 2024, with orders secured three years ahead, confirming its robust position in the global defense market.
Elbit’s international presence spans 55 countries, with notable operations in the United States (3,500 employees across 13 states generating $1.5 billion in revenue), Europe (27% of revenue), North America (22%), and Israel (29%).
Comprehensive Technological Portfolio
Elbit operates through four main divisions, covering aerospace, land systems, C4I and cyber, and ISTAR and electronic warfare (EW), providing a broad and integrated range of defense technologies.
It offers a broad spectrum of defense products—from avionics and cockpit solutions to combat vehicles, artillery systems, and advanced smart munitions—backed by a strong focus on research and development.
Strengthening Industrial Capacity and European Partnerships
Faced with growing global demand, Elbit is doubling its production capacity, adding new machinery, and operating double shifts to ensure timely delivery. Significantly, the company announced it will soon install a state-of-the-art machine from Czech manufacturer Fermat, highlighting the relevance of Czech engineering expertise.
Elbit also sources a substantial portion of its raw materials from Europe, further anchoring its supply chain within the region.
Showcasing Czech Engineering and Business Potential
Following Elbit’s presentation, Czech companies presented their own manufacturing capabilities, covering precision engineering, mechanical production, and defense-related components. This was followed by a tour of the production facilities, offering the delegation a firsthand view of Elbit’s manufacturing lines and operational standards.
The visit concluded with a business discussion involving Elbit’s purchasing department, where specific opportunities for cooperation were explored. There was mutual interest in advancing discussions, and some Czech companies are expected to continue negotiations with Elbit, with the aim of becoming part of its international supply chain.
This visit marked a significant step forward in Czech-Israeli industrial collaboration, particularly in the strategic fields of defense technology and advanced manufacturing.
