Czech Embassy Discovers Digital Casting Innovation at Magnus METAL

Last week, the Israel–Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCCI) coordinated an insightful visit to Magnus Metal, a rapidly growing technology company located in Kibbutz Revadim. The delegation was led by H.E. Ambassador Veronika Kuchynová Smigolová, joined by Commercial Counsellor Milan Slanec and the Embassy’s commercial team, together with ICCCI CEO Assaf Dovrat.

Czech Embassy Discovers Digital Casting Innovation at Magnus METAL

The visitors were welcomed by Mr. Gil Lavi, Co-Founder and CTO of Magnus Metal, and Mr. Bents Kidron, VP Strategy, Marketing and Business Development. Both executives bring decades of experience from the semiconductor and high-tech industries, and their long-standing partnership—stretching over 30 years—has become a driving force behind the company’s progress.

A Revolution in Metal Manufacturing

During the meeting, the Czech team received an extensive introduction to Magnus Metal’s breakthrough technology. The company was founded in 2018, following Mr. Lavi’s successful efforts in polymer 3D printing and his ambition to overcome the long-standing challenge of applying similar digital principles to metals. His determination resulted in the creation of a fully automated digital casting system that aims to transform the global metal manufacturing industry.

Today, 85% of the global metal casting market relies on traditional production, often dominated by older, labor-intensive methods in countries such as India and China. These processes typically involve high waste levels, substantial energy consumption, slow preparation times, and limited automation.

Magnus Metal proposes a fundamentally new approach:

  • Layered metal casting technology for stronger and longer-lasting parts
  • Fully automated and safe production with minimal human involvement

  • Significantly reduced waste, energy use, and environmental emissions

  • Compact manufacturing footprint, eliminating the need for large factories

  • Fast, consistent, and scalable production cycles

  • A technology ready to operate 24/7 year-round

The company holds 12 granted patents with many more pending and employs 116 specialists, with the overwhelming majority dedicated to technological development. As Mr. Kidron noted, “We are essentially four startups under one roof, united by the goal of reshaping an entire industry.”

To date, Magnus Metal has raised 88 million USD from leading global investors, including strategic participation from Caterpillar. One of the company’s industrial-scale systems is already installed at Caterpillar’s facility in the United States, while another machine operates in Israel for testing and ongoing development. Partnerships with Mercedes, Ford, and Caterpillar demonstrate the strong credibility and industrial relevance of the technology. In parallel, collaborations with military sectors in Israel and the U.S. have begun to take shape.

A Strong Potential for Czech-Israeli Cooperation

Magnus Metal is now entering a new growth phase and is actively seeking early adopters and strategic partners, particularly in Europe. The company expressed clear interest in exploring cooperation with Czech industrial players, given Czechia’s strong engineering tradition, established automotive and heavy-machinery sectors, advanced materials research, and dynamic ecosystem of precision manufacturers.

Potential areas of cooperation include:

  • Technology integration in Czech industrial production lines

  • Joint development projects with Czech automotive and machinery companies

  • Strategic partnerships with Czech investors or innovation groups

With Czechia’s reputation as a manufacturing hub in Central Europe, both sides identified significant space for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Deepening Czech-Israeli Industrial Collaboration

The visit highlighted the growing synergy between the Czech Republic and Israel in the fields of high-tech, advanced manufacturing, and industrial innovation. The Embassy and ICCCI will continue working closely with Magnus Metal to introduce the company to suitable partners in Czechia and support the next steps in cooperation.
