Delegation of the Committee on Public Administration, Territorial Planning and the Environment of the Senate of the Czech Republic visited Israel

Delegation of the Committee on Public Administration, Territorial Planning and the Environment of the Senate of the Czech Republic visited Israel in May 20-26. The visit focused on water management, environmental protection and digitization of public administration.
On Monday May 21 the delegation was invited to a working dinner with the Head of the Knesset Committee on Internal Affairs, Mr. Yoav Kish, in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. On Tuesday May 22 the delegation held official meetings with members of the Knesset Yael Cohen Paran, David Chenin and Uri Maklev. Afterwards, the Senators continued to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, where they attended a commemorative ceremony and laid a wreath. On Wednesday May 23 there was a meeting at the Ministry of Environment which focused mainly on waste management and recycling with Mr. Oded Nezer, director for waste management.
In the field, the delegation visited the desalination station near Hadera and heard a lecture on the importance of desalination for IL water management. On Thursday 24 May, the delegation visited the Eshkol filtering station, where water from nearby Galilee Lake is being filtered. The meeting was led by Mr. Ashli Davidson (Water Quality Engineer) and Mr. Ben Azhari (Water Supply Engineer). The tour of the facility itself was preceded by an interesting lecture on the water management system in IL.
