15 Years since the First NATO Enlargement after the Fall of Communism

Representatives of diplomatic community, NGOs and journalists met in the premises of NATO Liaison Office in Tbilisi to commemorate the 15th anniversary of first NATO enlargement after the fall of communism. The gathering jointly organized by Czech, Hungarian and Polish embassies on 12th March was addressed by the three ambassadors of the respected countries and by the State Minister Alex Petriashvili and Deputy Defence Minister Mikheil Darchiashvili.

The ambassadors equally highlighted positive political and economical effects of NATO membership. They expressed their view on NATO enlargement as a tool to ensure peace, stability and prosperity and supported Georgia´s NATO integration aspirations as well as Georgia´s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
