Czech Embassy hosted en event to mark 175th anniversary of Czech opera singer Navrátil-Ratili

On 19 March 2015 the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tbilisi hosted an event to commemorate 175 years since the birth of Czech opera singer and leader of the first Georgian folk choir  Josef Navrátil, known in Georgia as Ratili (1840 – 1912). A concert accompanied with a lecture was organized by the Georgian-Czech Association Láska-Praha (Love-Prague) headed by its president Ioseb Bezhashvili.
 

The evening ceremony was opened by Ambassador Tomáš Pernický. The “Haeri” choir from the Czech Republic as well as the legendary Georgian ensemble Erisioni sang Georgian folk songs and professor Tsiuri Beridze gave a lecture on Josef Navrátil-Ratili.
