Already this Friday November 3rd the 27th Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) begins in Tallinn. Screenings of festival films will be offered by a number of cinemas in Tallinn and more. The films include a quartet of Czech films and other films and short films with a significant Czech footprint.
The Black Nights film festival is one of the fifteen largest and most important festivals in the world. The first of the Czech films that the festival will offer is the children's animated film Tony, Shelly and the Magic Light, which tells the story of a boy with an exceptional innate feature and a girl who turns his world upside down. Another film for teenagers I Don't Love You Anymore tells about a boy who, in a sensitive and challenging period of his life, meets a girl and together they decide to run away from problems, many adventures await them. The next two films, this time for adults, tell two challenging stories based on real events and characters. Mr. and Mrs. Stodola is a film based on the lives of Jaroslav and Dana Stodola, serial killers who are attacking wealthy pensioners. Lastly, the priming film Her Body will be telling the story of a promising athlete who, after an injury, sets out to shoot “adult entertainment“.
The Czech Embassy in Estonia is strongly supporting this festival and Czech cinematography, and we cordially invite you to the screening of films in warm cinemas even in this gloomy season.
