International Christmas Bazaar 2018 in Tallinn

On Sunday, November 25, 2018, the 13th International Christmas Bazaar was traditionally held at Radisson BLU Sky Hotel in Tallinn. Every year, the International Women´s Club of Tallinn (IWTC) organizes the event attended by most of local Embassies.

This year, 24 of them presented national specialties from their countries. The IT-based agency EU-LISA with its headquarter in Tallinn and the NATO Force Integration Unit also participated with their stands together with Estonian business companies. During the event  a raffle, silent auction and a  “personal visit” of Santa Claus were held.

The Czech Embassy in Tallinn has also been involved in the charity Christmas bazaar this year and its staff hand-made a substantial part of the goods, mostly Christmas items including Christmas decorations. Among Czech typical products were hand-knitted items, Czech pudding, Christmas punch, Czech blown-glass ornaments, Karlsbad waffles and Czech glass. Participants could buy colouring books and pencils with “Krteček” (“Mole”). More than 300 pieces of Christmas gingerbread figures, richly decorated, have been very successful and sold out fast. The Czech stand was all the time full of buyers. It managed to earn a significant amount of money for Estonian charity companies focused on helping children and women, which are supported by IWCT.
