Award ceremony for winners of Lidice International Children's Art Competition

On 12th November 2025, the Czech Embassy in Tallinn hosted a ceremony to present awards to the winners of the Lidice International Children's Art Exhibition. This year's 53rd edition, with the theme of PLAY, attracted 12,723 participants from 69 countries. Five diplomas went to Estonia.

The purpose of this project is to honor the memory of the child victims of the village of Lidice, who perished during the annihilation of the village by the German Nazis during the Second World War, and all other children who lost their lives in war conflicts.

The diplomas and gifts were presented by Czech Ambassador Zdeněk Beránek to Kirill Ari from Ahtme Kunstide Kool, Elimelech Kot and Isabel Michaeli from the Estonian Jewish Education Center, and Sasha Alice Kuzina from Tallinn Vanalinna Kunstikeskus.

Emma Brit Kallit from Pärnu Koidula Gümnaasium, Klaudia Kaljulaid from Art School DAK Stuudio, Moussia Piekarski from Estonian Jewish Education Center, Liisi Anier, Kadrina Annabel Soosaar and Oscar Linus Emmert from Pelgulinna Gümnaasium, and Sandra Patzig from Tallinn Art School were additionally awarded for last year. All teachers were also presented with an honorary diploma and a gift.

We would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in the 54th International Children's Art Exhibition Lidice, this time with the theme BOOK. The deadline for applications is February 6, 2026. By this date, the artworks must physically be in Lidice. You can find the official invitation here.

Children aged 4–16, individuals, and children from schools and art clubs can participate in the competitions and exhibitions. People with disabilities can participate without age restrictions. Award-winning creations receive an Honorable Mention, the best ones receive a Lidice Rose medal.
