ICEFA Lidice 2018 and Czech Children´s Day

On Saturday, 6th of October 2018, the Czech Embassy in Tallinn organized a ceremony awarding Estonian winners of The International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice (ICEFA Lidice) together with the Czech Day for children in Children’s Museum Miiamilla in Tallinn.
This year, over 250 art works from 17 Estonian schools was registered to the ICEFA Lidice and a number of awarded children has risen up to 7. For the ceremony, the Czech Embassy used again a lovely space of Children´s Museum Miiamilla in Kadriorg.
The event has been launched by the Ambassador Gabriela Tománková´s speech, during which she has mentioned a theme of next competition (Chemistry) and invited children to take part in the ICEFA Lidice in 2019. A distribution of awards, medals and Czech presents to the winners followed. Representatives of art schools DAK Stuudio and Kollaaž Art School from Tallinn were also present.

All children are cordially invited to participate in next competition of ICEFA Lidice in 2019.
Next part of the afternoon was reserved to the Czech Children´s Day, to which embassy staff prepared a programme for several hours. The children were involved in an educative game focusing on the Czech cultural realms and working with pictures and texts followed by answering questions in a quiz. All participating children were awarded with small gifts for their enormous effort. Children also got information about all Ancient Bohemian Legends (Staré pověsti české) using a pick-a-pair game. Small exhibition reminding outstanding personalities of the Czech nation, Czech important places or Czech inventions was also part of the programme.
Small visitors had opportunity to compare their local games and activities with the Czech ones organised by the Czech Embassy staff, like ´Slepá bába´ (blind-man's-buff). As well as last year, a Czech cartoons, lessons of the Czech language and Czech songs were part of the event. Last but not least, Czech handmade delicious sweets were served.
