Prague.bio Conference 2026 Connected the Czech and Taiwanese Biotechnology Ecosystems

A delegation of Taiwanese companies, universities, and industry organizations visited the Czech Republic on the occasion of Prague.bio Conference 2026. Expert presentations, visits to leading research centers, and the signing of a memorandum between Prague.bio and Taiwan BIO highlighted the growing potential of Czech-Taiwanese cooperation in biotechnology and bioinnovation.

The Czech Republic and Taiwan continue to strengthen their cooperation in science, research, and technological innovation. One recent example of this dynamic partnership was the participation of a Taiwanese delegation of biotechnology and bioinnovation experts in Prague.bio Conference 2026, brought to Prague by the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei in cooperation with CzechInvest.

As part of the conference program, members of the Taiwanese delegation actively contributed to expert discussions. One Taiwanese expert participated in the main biotechnology panel, while three additional speakers joined a specialized workshop dedicated to Taiwan’s biotechnology and bioinnovation ecosystem. Representatives from companies, startups, and academic institutions presented their organizations, research activities, and technological solutions, offering the Czech audience valuable insights into Taiwan’s rapidly expanding biotechnology sector.

In addition to the conference itself, CECO Taipei, in cooperation with Prague.bio and CzechInvest, organized a series of follow-up meetings and visits to leading Czech research and innovation institutions. The delegation visited Masaryk University, CEITEC, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences, i&i Prague, BIOCEV, and St. Anne’s University Hospital Brno. Discussions focused on identifying concrete opportunities for scientific and technological collaboration, exchanging expertise, and building new partnerships between Czech and Taiwanese stakeholders.

The Taiwanese delegation included representatives from Taiwan BIO, Acro Biomedical, Ever Supreme Biotechnology, National Chung Hsing University, and Protect Animal Health, Inc., representing a broad cross-section of Taiwan’s biotechnology ecosystem, from academia and startups to established industry players.

A major outcome of the mission was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Prague.bio and Taiwan BIO. The newly established partnership provides a framework for closer cooperation between Czech and Taiwanese organizations and creates new opportunities to connect research institutions, companies, and innovation organizations on both sides.
