Taiwanese gaming media visited the Czech Republic on the occasion of the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
From March 24 to 28, 2025, a group of Taiwanese journalists and influencers visited Czechia as part of a familiarization trip linked to the anticipated release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (KCDII) by the Czech game studio Warhorse Studios. The event, supported by the Ministry of Regional Development through the PROPED program and in cooperation with CzechTourism, Warhorse Studios, and regional partners, aimed to connect the virtual gaming world with real locations in Czechia, raise awareness of the Czech gaming industry, and inspire gamers—thus potential Taiwanese tourists—to visit our country.
Participants of the trip visited historical locations associated with the game, such as Kutná Hora, Malešov, the ruins of Trosky Castle, and Hrubá Skála Chateau in the Bohemian Paradise. In Prague, the journalists met with the developers at Warhorse Studios, where they had the opportunity to play an unreleased quest from the game and discuss its development. The program also included interactive tours and presentations of regional initiatives, such as the KCD Live! project, which offers experiential programs for fans of the game.
KCDII, released in February 2025, has been successful in Taiwan, where the first installment gained widespread popularity. The gaming industry thus has the potential to contribute not only to cultural exchange but also to the development of tourism in Czechia.
