Czech Republic at Semicon Taiwan 2025 – Growing Interest, Strong Presence, New Opportunities

The Czech National Pavilion at the Leading Global Semiconductor Trade Show, Semicon Taiwan 2025.

The Czech Republic returned to the premier Asian semiconductor trade show, Semicon Taiwan 2025 (Sept 10–12, Taipei), for the third time. Our national pavilion, organised by the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei and the agency CzechInvest under the PROPED economic-diplomacy program, made an impressive mark.

The show broke records this year: over 100,000 industry professionals from 56 countries attended, more than 1,200 companies exhibited across 4,100 booths, and 17 national pavilions took part—including Czechia. New entrants such as Sweden, Lithuania, Canada and Vietnam highlighted the show’s rising global importance.

At our 54 m² pavilion, leading Czech tech firms (Advacam, DCT Czech, Meopta, SVCS Process Innovation, Unites Systems, Vakuum Servis) shared space with research institutions (HiLASE Centre, VUT Brno and the Czech National Semiconductor Cluster, Faculty of Mathematics & Physics at Charles University). A university mission with UJEP, UTB, UWB and VŠB-TUO focused on building ties with Taiwanese research partners.

The pavilion was officially opened by Minister for Science, Research & Innovation Mr. Ženíšek, along with Deputy Minister Ms. Havlíková, CzechInvest Director Mr. Michal and Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade Director William Liu—drawing strong media attention. Participating in the show and side program offered a strategic chance to engage directly with global leaders. The Czech delegation explored local top-tier R&D centres and tech firm.

The Czech pavilion clearly showed where Czechia stands in the semiconductor field:

  • In equipment manufacturing (measuring instruments, electron microscopes, test tools), Czechia holds a strong global position.
  • The Czech semiconductor market is valued at about USD 2.11 billion in 2025, with further growth projected.
  • The US firm Onsemi is preparing a major investment (expansion) in a Czech chip-manufacturing facility (in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm), marking a major step in power-chip production.
  • The Czech government has a National Semiconductor Strategy and actively contributes to the EU’s Chips Act ecosystem.
  • Compared with other European players, Czechia is in a “middle-tier” position in terms of full-fab production—but strong in niche, specialised technologies and support segments.
  • The development of AI applications, space technologies, the automotive industry, and green technologies in Czechia presents exciting opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and the advancement of next-generation semiconductor technologies.
