Czech Citizenship by descent

This information is for those who believe they may be eligible to apply for Czech citizenship BY DESCENT only.

If you believe you may be eligible to apply for Czech citizenship by descent, please fill out the Preliminary Czech Citizenship Eligibility Assessment (DOCX, 29 KB) form to the best of your ability, providing as much information as possible.

If you are interested as to whether your children or grandchildren may also be eligible to gain Czech citizenship, please let us know in the form.

This form is for the purpose of making a Preliminary Assessment of eligibility for Czech citizenship ONLY. 
Please note that due to the complicated nature of assessing Czech citizenship, making a preliminary assessment can take an extended period of time. 

Please be informed, that making an application for Czech citizenship and  if  the application is successful, being then able to apply for Czech passport, requires undergoing a whole process involving the presentation of many documents (usually with verification  by  the state of origin of the documents and translation  into Czech language) and can be very time-consuming and costly. The whole application process in Czech language. In simple cases, where all documents are provided correctly, it usually takes a minimum of 6 months to be able to apply  for Czech Passport. More complicated cases take usually more than a year as minimum time needed.
