13th Annual Czech and Slovak Film Festival in Sydney | 25 - 29 March 2026

The Czech and Slovak Film Festival in Sydney will be returning to Dendy Cinemas Newtown from 25 - 29 March 2026. This year's festival will once again feature a diverse selection of the newest and best of Czech and Slovak film. Film-goers can look forward to films from a variety of genres, many of which will be shown on the big screen in Australia for the first time. The program includes dramas, thrillers, comedies, fairytales and period films, and of course, short films – as has become a trademark of the festival and a popular element bringing variety for fans of Czech and Slovak film.
The festival will begin with the screening of the internationally acclaimed film FATHER / OTEC directed by Tereza Nvotová, which tells the intense story of the tragic implications of a parent's mistake and the traumatic impact on a family and community.
