The President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel and the First Lady, together with a delegation and staff of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney and Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra, joined the UN Campaign “Orange the World”, which sets the goal of preventing and stopping violence against women and girls.
10 December 2024 is International Human Rights Day and also the last day of the UN campaign “Orange the World – 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”. The campaign, which began on 25 November 2024, reflects the approaching 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action with the motto “Towards 30 Years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action: UNITE to End Violence Against Women & Girls”. According to the UN, one in three women or girls in the world have experienced some form of violence. We consider any instance of violence, whether domestic or sexual, to be absolutely unacceptable.
