Staff at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney join the UN Campaign „Orange the World“, which sets the goal of preventing and stopping violence against women and girls.
According to the UN, one in three women or girls in the world have experienced some form of violence. We consider any instance of violence, whether domestic or sexual, to be absolutely unacceptable.
We would like to point out that there is a wide range of aid organisations in Australia and New Zealand, to whom anyone can turn to for help and advice and whose services are free. Please find below several examples of organisations that deal with the issue of violence against women.
Organisations in Australia:
1800 RESPECT: 1800 737 732
Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence Helpline: 1800 943 539
These organisations offer free counselling service 24/7 in cases of family, domestic or sexual violence.
For Australia, there is also the application AskIzzy, which allows you to easily seek organisations that can help in a variety of situations. We highly recommend downloading this application: Ask Izzy
Organisations in New Zealand:
Shine Helpline: 0508 744 633
Women’s Refuge crisis line: 0800 733 843
The Consulate General can provide necessary information for aid organisations and services or assist in contacting them, if required.
