The Consul-General participated in a ceremony commemorating the fourth anniversary of Russian invasion of Ukraine.

On 24 February 2026 the Consul-General Hana Flanderová took part in a commemorative event marking the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, along with other members of the local Consular Corps, representatives of local government and institutions, as well as of Ukranian community organisations, and members of the wider public. The event was organised by the Ukranian Council of NSW. 

The gathering took place in St Mary's Cathedral Square in the centre of Sydney. Cardinal Mykola Bychok, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia Matt Thistlethwaite, the Minister for Multiculturalism of NSW Stephen Kamper and the Ambassador of the Ukraine to Australia H.E. Vasyl Myroshnychenko were some of the notable speakers at the event. 

During the official ceremony, attending members of the Consular Corps presented their countries flags together with Ukranian children as an expression of support and solidarity with Ukraine in its defence and resistance against the aggressor.
