Sculpture by the Sea in Sydney

Sculptures by the Sea is the 19th annual exhibiton which runs from 22 October to 8 November 2015 in Sydney. It is one of the largest outdoor exhibitions in the world, and it get around 500 thousands visitors. It is one of the best known and most popular cultural events in Sydney.
Consulate of the Czech Republic in Sydney is partner of the Czech participation in this exhibition.
The exhibition this year presents more than 107 works of art from Australia and 18 other countries (eg. Brazil, USA, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, South Korea, Thailand or Sweden).
Czech Republic is represented by artist Jakub Geltner. His interactive exhibition named "Nest06" is part of the project “Nests”, which is focused mainly on the landscape and the looks of the cities.

Jakub Geltner is an artist of the new generation of young artists who does mainly installations in public spaces and 3D visualization. He often displays topics related to the role of architecture and design in the city, housing estates and impact of modern technology on people.
