Participation in commemoration of third anniversary of full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

On 24 February 2025, Consul Ján Krivoš, took part in a commemorative event marking the third anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, along with other members of the local Consular Corps, representatives of local government and institutions, as well as of Ukranian community organisations, and members of the wider public. The event was organised by the Ukranian Council of NSW.

The Premier of New South Wales Chris Minns and the Ambassador of the Ukraine to Australia Vasyl Volodymyrovych Myroshnychenko were some of the notable speakers at the event, which took place in the square in front of St Mary’s Cathedral in the centre of Sydney. During the official ceremony, attending members of the Consular Corps presented their countries flags together with Ukranian children as an expression of support and solidarity with Ukraine. As part of the event, there was a fundraising drive to support the Ukraine in its resistence against the aggressor.

Russia’s aggression, which has its roots in the occupation of Crimea and the triggering of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014, is a constant threat not only to Ukraine, but to the entire free world. Czechia will continue to stand by Ukraine and provide it with all the necessary assistance, including support on its path to restoring its territorial integrity and integrating into Euro-Atlantic structures.
